August Worship and Sermon Series
“Coming Out of Exile: Help from Isaiah” will be the focus of our sermons in worship in the month of August. We will look at 5 different chapters from the middle section (40-55) of Isaiah. The messages in these chapters were spoken to God’s people when they were in exile in Babylon (597-538 B.C.) and learned they would soon be able to go home. As we emerge from this pandemic, a kind of exile, we will look to these amazing chapters to bring us hope and Good news just as they did for God’s people long ago.
August 1st: Chapter 40:1-17,27-31 – “Getting Things Straight”
August 8th: Chapter 43 -“A Great Travel Partner”
August 15th: Chapter 53 -“Songs of the Suffering Servant”
August 22nd: Chapter 45:1-7,20-23 – “How God Rolls”
August 29th: Chapter 55 -“Eat, Listen, Live”
