New Meta Organworks Virtual Pipe Organ
It is with great excitement that we bring you a webpage dedicated to our future virtual pipe organ currently being built by Meta Organworks. Meta Organworks is an east coast company created by Daniel Lemieux. From celebrated organist to pipe organ builder and then on to virtual pipe organ building, Dan has been immersed in the world of pipe organs from the young age of 13. His story is worth reading. He is the leader of the team building our new organ.
But lest we forget our current faithful worship leader…we are pleased to announce our Rodgers organ will continue leading worship in Sonoma, California, at Grace Baptist Church. This church is currently without an organ and receives the gift of our faithful worship leader thankfully. They plan to move the organ to its new home during the month of July. It is a long process to take apart an electronic organ and mark all the wires so they can be reconnected correctly later. To allow for the time necessary, we may be without an organ for a while as we anticipate delivery of our new organ the week of August 24.
Installation of our virtual pipe organ should take a week and, lucky SLC, Dan Lemieux himself will be the first to play this organ for us. What an event to look forward to! We will be sure to advertise this in the Beacon and E-News, so stay tuned for more to come on this.
Our new organ will be the ultimate versatile worship instrument consisting of Hauptwerk organ sets, a high-end digital platform, and a hand made case built in the tradition of pipe organs. It will house 9 different pipe organs, 2 manual organs, a harpsichord, Belgium Carillon, and Ableton Live, a software that provides 5,000+ instruments for when we want the music of something other than an organ. The addition of Ableton Live makes this a one-of-a-kind organ! If you would like to learn more about how Hauptwerk created the digital pipe organ sets, click on the Organ Forum link below.
