John 10:1-18 (Jesus The Good Shepherd) I get marked with ashes because….

I get marked with ashes because in spite of my many and constant failings, Jesus still continues to love me. When I think of how he suffered and died for the forgiveness of my sins, I am brought to my knees. Oh my Lord, I am so very thankful to you and I am so very sorry when I squander the Gift you have given to me! Then Romans 8:31 reminds me “If God is for us, who can ever be against us? ” And Romans 8:38 sweetly tells me “Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow, – not even the powers of hell, can separate us from God’s love.” Jesus will always be with me, loving, guiding and protecting me. These ashes physically remind me of my Shephard’s – my Savior’s love.
