The Bondage of the Will
PB's Sunday Adult Education Class - March 2026
We have a couple more sessions on the Bondage of the Will. Hang in there! We are coming to some real breakthroughs so if you are a little confused, make sure you come to these last couple of classes! Remember we really focused in on Erasmus’ positions last session and now this Sunday we see the essence of Luther’s position. The final session on the 19th will be on some practical implications. For example, how our view of the “bound will” affects our understanding of Baptism, prayer, and discipleship. We will then bring our spring to a close with Bible studies on Moses and David. What a year it has been!
Schedule:
April 12th - Some "Ah Hahs"
April 19th - The Bound Will & Baptism, Prayer, and Discipleship
April 26th - Moses in the Cleft of the Rock
May 3rd - Moses & God's Backside
May 10th - David, What's the Big Deal?

This year PB’s Thursday Bible Study will walk through the Gospel of John. This Gospel is often said to be a more “theological” Gospel than the synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke). One way to look at it is this: The Gospel of John is written in such a way that we will now not miss what many did. It is a well known fact that the Gospel according to John was Luther’s most loved Gospel. Come and take a deep dive into this amazing Gospel that truly does deliver God’s mercy and grace in Christ Jesus. We hope to cover about a ½ chapter in each session and finish by the end of next summer!

Midweek Scripture Reflections
Manna Bible Study meets on Wednesdays at 10:30am to discuss the texts for the upcoming Sunday Worship Service.
Foundations of the Faith is a multi-week program led by Pastor Bill, at least twice a year. The content is necessary for adults to become members of Silverdale Lutheran Church, but it is very helpful for all of us, no matter where we are at in our faith journey. A sample of the subjects covered are: The meaning of the Gospel, The Word, Sacraments, Lutheran Heritage and Theology, The Creeds, Worship-Process & Content, Prayer, Service, Spiritual Gifts, and Giving. Interested? Email slc@silverdalelutheran.org and we’ll send you the info!
